OFW-K

The OFW-Kabayan (OFWK) Help Desk Program was created by TNO, in partnership with NFS in 2014, with the vision and burden to improve the plight of distressed Overseas Filipino Workers (OFWs). The program’s continuing goals are:

1. To establish Help Desks that will look after the welfare of OFWs in distress, as well as their families, and
2. To raise one million missionaries by the year 2020 from                         among the over 11 million OFWs working in more than 200     countries all over the world.

To achieve these goals, the OFWK- Help Desk program engages in the following initiatives:

1. Anti-illegal recruitment campaign
2. Intervention for distressed OFWs
3. Financial literacy
4. Family values program
5. Visitation program
6. Prayer and counseling
7. Free workshops and trainings for OFW-Kabayan Help Desk workers

TNO has partnered with several government and private agencies such as:

• Philippine Overseas Employment Administration (POEA)
• Overseas Workers Welfare Administration (OWWA)
• Department of Labor (DOLE), through overseas Philippine Labor offices
• Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD)
• Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG)
• Commission on Filipinos Overseas (CFO)
• Filipino Community Center (FILCOM)
• Non-governmental Organizations (NGOs)
